KIA tops US Green Index Survey

KIA has topped the Smart Green Index for the large car segment in the US with its Amanti (also known as Opirus in some markets) reflecting the highest relationship between perceived quality and overall value, as well as scoring highest in issues pertaining to fuel consumption and environmental friendliness.
Not to be outdone, the KIA Spectra (Cerato), Rondo7, Sportage, Sorento and Sedona (Grand Carnival) also scored highest in their respective segments under the new index.
The survey is weighted toward customer advocacy, overall satisfaction, future brand choices and loyalty as well as favouring the green credentials of a vehicle considering a broad range of environmental issues related to vehicle ownership. These issues include fuel economy, recycleability and CO2 emissions (both vehicular and production).
It’s another feather in the cap for KIA who along with well priced, safe family vehicles prove their ownership satisfaction and environmental credentials are showing the world this Korean manufacturer is clearly headed in the right direction.

Kia, car making experts.
I know through dealer conferences that Toyota is watching Hyundai - Kia very closely and consider them to be their greatest concern.
Hyundai - Kia went from number nine car manufacturer to number five in just two years. I think their concern is warranted.

Does not make up for the fact that the Kia Pregio [nee Bongo] was such a dirty engine it was banned from being imported into AUS.

US Green Index Survey? That may be so, but this is one very ugly looking car.
I suspect the only thing green about this car is the colour on your face after you’ve stop throwin up from looking at it.
The only environmentally friendly thing going for it is that owners would leave it parked in the garage forever.

Being a Domestic and American market only vehicle, it has the right to look like it does. (it’s called playing to your market)
It’s good to see Kia being allowed to take some limelight by it’s parent company. Also interesting as they currently don’t offer mass market altenate vehilces and yet still keep their foot print low.

Yes I think Toyota will eventually succumb to this Korean Duo.
Koreans have done it in the home electronics and whitegoods etc with Samsung/LG.

Spitfire, Hyundai have made a good fist of it by all accounts with the Genesis.Read what Motor trend have to say if u are interested. At a third of the price too with more high tensile steel and better leather,Engine etc etc.

Yep thats an ugly mug of a motor but its not what the threads about. A worthy award to an up and coming manufacturer. Can’t somehow see VW ever getting to number one unless they begin to build more cars in cheaper labor force countries a la all their competitors.
