Audi has been spotted testing a prototype version of the facelifted Audi Q5 in Sweden with very little camouflage.

Although not clearly seen here, the 2013 Audi Q5 facelift will feature a revised front fascia and in particular, a revised front grille. It is expected to feature a hexagonal pattern as opposed to the current trapezoidal layout.

The hexagonal mesh will also be carried over to the design of the fog light clusters, while the headlights will feature Audi’s latest design themes, with LED daytime running lights and a squiggle line through the centre.

Inside, the 2013 Audi Q5 is expected to feature the company’s latest MMI mutlimedia interface, with internet functions and Google maps.

As for the powertrain options, the new Q5 is expected to come with a similar line-up to the current model, including the 3.0-litre TDI V6, a 3.2-litre FSI petrol V6, a 2.0-litre TFSI turbo petrol, and a 2.0-litre TDI.

As you can see by the badge on the back, a new 3.0-litre turbo petrol also appears set to join the line-up.

According to reports, the new model will hit the US market during the third quarter of this year, and will likely hit Australia in early 2013.

3.0 turbo petrol? Where do I sign?

    • PN

The 3.0T is misleading as it would most likely be supercharged rather than turbochared. I would also assume it would be a detuned version of the S4 engine (245kw), down to around 220kw, much like the engines in the new A6s.

      • Oliver Cromwell

it is 200kw i believe, this engine is already coming in the A4 lineup.

The T has been used previously in the S4/S5 where the side badging says V6T, according to Audi, “T” stands for forced induction (Supercharger/Turbo)

  • Dominique Vøn Hütch

Yes T is for supercharged.  Vorsprung duh Teknik ;-)

i honestly cant see the difference between the pre and post facelift q5

    • Oliver Cromwell

You arent meant to be able to. This is a mule, however if you look at the front grill, there is something going on, on the top edges, this is to hide their new hexagonal grill which will carry on into all their models.
