Dodge Journey – Medium SUV – January
The 2012 Dodge Journey will receive a facelift with a new interior, modifications to the grille, lower front fascia and the new Dodge logo. Under the bonnet will be the award-winning 3.6L Pentastar engine for all-round better performance. The Journey will also become the brand’s smallest SUV with production ending for the Dodge Nitro.
Dodge Dart – Small Car – 4-door sedan. Not confirmed for Australia as yet.
The all-new Dodge Dart will debut at this year’s North American International Auto show in January 2012 and is expected to peak quite a lot of interest. The ‘Dart’ heralds a return of the 60’s nameplate for Dodge, but this time around, as a small car based on the same platform as the exciting Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
‘Dart’ powertrains include a “Tigershark” 16-valve 2L engine, a “Tigershark” 16-valve 2.4L MultiAir four-cylinder engine, and a 16-valve 1.4 MultiAir Intercooled turbo engine from the Giulietta.
There will also be three transmission options including a 6-speed manual, 6-speed Dual dry clutch unit, and a 9-speed ZF automatic.
Chrysler Group Australia says that there are no plans to import the Dart into Australia as they are yet to confirm if there will be right-hand drive versions built.
