The Caddy Maxi Life is Volkswagen’s contribution to the Australian people mover category, carrying up to seven adults and their luggage in perfect comfort.
A blend of form and function, VW boasts its Caddy Maxi Life sets new standards for cleverly utilising space.
With a total length of 4.88 metres, a width of 1.8 metres, and a height of 1.8 metres, it features large sliding doors on both sides for easy entry and exit.
A frugal bench seat in the second row comfortably seats three people with ample leg room, and can also be folded down in three stages to accommodate any kind of load.
With the third row tucked away, the Caddy Maxi Life can carry up to 1,650 litres of luggage, while in its full seven seat arrangement; this is decreased to 530 litres.
Various pockets, compartments, cup holders and cargo nets are scattered throughout the cabin, ensuring there is a place for everything and everyone.
With the potential for up to seven people on board all at once, safety is paramount, with the Caddy featuring ABS, traction control, EBD and ASR (anti-spin regulation) all as standard.
ESP (electronic stability programme) with Brake Assist is also available as an optional extra.
Creature comforts include electric front windows, central locking, semi-automatic air conditioning, a dust and pollen filter, two vents on the centre console, and the radio with CD/MP3 and six speakers.
The Caddy Maxi Life features just one engine in its line-up – a 1.9 TDI unit delivering 77kW and 250Nm from 1900rpm, with a choice of either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed DSG transmission.
The 1.9 litre TDI meets the stringent euro IV emissions standard whilst maintaining a fuel consumption of 6.3 litres/100km with the 5-speed manual and 6.8 litres/100km with the 6-speed DSG.

That is “Safety” as in star rating and airbags ect.
This looks like a VW badged skoda roomster without the ugly windows.
I can see this being a very practical car with excellent fuel economy. There is a version I think that does not have the back seats so if load space is critical, this would be the model to buy. I would personally buy one of these tomorrow as I have owned VWs previously & generally found them to be great cars.

This or a Kia Rondo 7. A no brainier decision. Well it is another $6K+ for the manual. Hmmm………..I would still go the VW with the DSG worth every penny of the $9k more.

Its VERY difficult to find a decent benchseat these days, esp. the Japanese Ute ones, they are absolute RUBBISH and a joke.
Falcon Ute bench is ok though, now with headrest for our centre seat friend!!I give it 5 out of 10.
BEST bench seat i have seen is the Trasit Van and Fiat Scudo vans.
