Drool…. Now if only I had the money, that is one awesome car

  2. crouchy says:

Not convinced on the rear end. No doubts that it will be a great drive though =)

  3. riceboy says:

nice…can’t afford one of these, and the Rallyart version for us poor people isn’t out yet…

  4. TuffGuy says:

They did a good copy of an Alfa Romeo on the rear end didn’t they? No pictures from inside I notice, probably because we already know what the boring poverty Lancer looks like LOL. As for the outside it does not ‘look’ very fast, a bit of a granny-mobile I reckon.

  5. Wheelnut says:

I’d love one particularly with the tiptronic DSG/SMG type gearbox. Its got great looks; awesome performance; nice interior and Mitsubishi at least stayed true to the traditional Lancer Evo image unlike Subaru.

  6. tom says:

classic front end, shame about the rear. the updated design of the XI will be great i’m guessing, the rear of the X is not really mentioned as the evo’s standout design feature by anyone at the moment is it?, so i’m guessing mitsubishi will change it.

  7. Adam says:

    Embargo?

    MR with SST = $71700
    Base with 5 speed manual = $59490
    - SST = $5000
    - Performance pack = $5500 (suspension, brakes)

    217 kw/ 366Nm
    1625kg

  8. crouchy says:

Hey tuffboy – if you have at look around the site and around the net, you will find some rather surprising interior pics. Not a BMW but leaps and bounds ahead of previous EVO’s. Id almost call it impressive~

  9. John says:

If it’s 1625kg then that’s way to heavy. Why is it that Oz spec cars always weigh more than the Jap spec equivalent? De we use a different standard to weigh the cars? Also I’ve noticed the front number plate position has been moved from the left front to the centre of the car. Any reason for this? That was always a distinguishing look of the EVO also helped with getting more air to the intercooler. Great car, but just too heavy for a 2.0L turbo. At $71,700 it’s also over priced for the top spec.

  10. fasthonda says:

I’m sure that it’s very fast, but I just can’t help feeling that the entire design of the car looks basic and to a degree, dated.
The front looks great, but out of place with the overall shape of the car.

  11. fasthonda says:

With the top of the range price of over $71,000 I’d rather buy the BMW 135i.

  12. RALLYX says:

The New Mitsubishi Lancer Sh!ts all over the New Subaru Impreza in the looks department (both Exterior and Interior), even in base model guise the Lancer looks much more interesting and appealing than the Impreza. That’s not to say that I like overly designed or fussy-looking cars, but the new Impreza is as inspiring as the previous generation Toyota Camry. I’m an ex-owner of a second-gen (MY03) Impreza and I tell you, I am disappointed in the look and feel of the new Impreza. Hell, even the new Hyundai i30 looks better (not knocking the i30 as I think that it’s a great all-round car). At the very least the Lancer has retained some of its heritage and Japanese character. FHI / Subaru really need to do some butt kicking in their Design Department, or maybe the designers just need to lay off the ‘Sake’ for awhile. (Subaru Impreza AWD now = Subaru Impreza Awful Wheel Drive).
