CarAdvice’s Anthony Crawford was one of only two Australian motoring journalists invited to the launch of the 2011 Aston Martin Vantage S at Ascari Race Resort in southern Spain.
The Vantage S is the only car the famous British luxury sports car manufacturer has ever launched on a track, and as the video shows, it’s certainly a car worthy of that honour.
The Aston Martin Vantage S is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine with 321kW of power and 490Nm of torque, giving it a top speed of 305km/h.
The asking price is a little higher than the standard V8 Vantage – $275,000 for the Coupe, $299,600 for the Roadster – but for the price you get a bespoke race-ready track car with revised aero styling, wider rear tyres, bigger brakes with slotted rotors, a unique interior and much more.
As Anthony says, it’s the perfect car to star in the next James Bond film.
