Lamborghini Superleggera production ends
March 28, 2008 by George Skentzos
Production of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera has ended in favour of the newly released LP560-4 Gallardo which made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
Despite having only been in production for almost a year, the lighter and more powerful Superleggera was only ever intended as a limited production model.
Revisions to the Gallardo’s V10 engine raised maximum power to 388kW at 8000rpm and 510Nm, whilst a 70kg weight reduction meant it could accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
The Lamborghini LP560-4 Gallardo produces 412kW and 539Nm from its larger 5.2-litre V10 engine, out pacing the lightweight Superleggera in the sprint to 100km/h by 0.1 seconds.
CarAdvice will be bringing you a full review of not only the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera but also the stunning Gallardo Spyder in the coming week.

The Superleggera – my car of the year!
Nice car. Seen the Photot before, makes me feel nice and warm…..Ooooh I wet me self.
What No Diesel!!! Arrggh
all i can say is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i only needed another 10 or 20 years before i could afford one
LOL…..who created the front air intakes as looks like a 5yr old did that! Seriously look at it as weird, big and had designers stumped on what to do below headlights and whole front!
LOL, maximus if you saw the thing in real life, it looks quite mean!
The current motor magazine has a story on one fo their roving editors spending a day in the Sant Agata plant putting together the new LP560-4. Quite interesting little read. Since lamborghini or any other manufacturer in italy can’t pay a better wage above award, they get top grade chefs to prepare the lunch meals and the staff eat gourmet food!
PAT E…..I dont need to be convinced on if its mean! I love the look…but!
