Melbourne Motor Show: FIAT stand
February 29, 2008 by Matt Brogan
FIAT’s baby 500 (Cinquecento) and Corolla-sized Ritmo have made their stunning entrance in to the hearts and minds of the Australian motoring public with a typically classy and clean cut Italian display at this year’s Melbourne International Motor Show.
Show casing one of each 500 model, several Puntos and the two of the all-new Ritmos, the FIAT stand is worth a visit… especially for red blooded males (hint hint).

Where is the Scudo?

i want a 500
magic retro styling!!!!!!!
Hi Quality Drivers machines don’t need to have over-sized engines, windy mountain road in the wet without spinning out 3 times to get there! A job for fine Euro Cars.
if the fine looking lovely’s at the Fiat stand are anything like what there where at the brisbane motor show then the fiat stand is WELL worth a visit!!!!
Richo – trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed. I just felt sleazy asking to take pics :)
The Bambino revisited is beautifully put together. Ladies, you need to leave your handbags at home, there’s not much room in these!!
Feels great to sit in, dash looks great, gear lever FETH,
clutch feels well weighted.
Now you might all laugh at this, but I found one negative -the steering wheel rim is too thick for the car. It feels like the wheel of a MUCH larger car, and to me just feels wrong. It’s not too big or small, just too thick.
The Ritmo looks good outside, but like a dark coffin inside. I couldn’t wait to get back out of it, while thinking of all the Fiats I’ve owned – 1100, 1100D, 1300, 1500, 125, 124S, 124 and 128. This one just didn’t do it for me, especially after sitting in Audis, VWs and Skodas.
Comparing to Audi is probably unfair, as the Fiat is cheaper, but it’s in the VW and Skoda price bracket and will be competing with them.
I have a Punto 1.9 Emotion JTD and absolutely love it. I spent a full 12 months looking for a new car and I drove everything.
The Punto did it for me.

I’ve owned the 1100, Uno D and Palio 1.6
