Nissan GT-R V-Spec to reclaim the Ring
February 13, 2008 by George Skentzos
Porsche’s victory around the Nurburgring may be short lived, with details slowly emerging on the flagship V-Spec edition of the potent Nissan GT-R.
While the standard GT-R produces 353kW, the power of the V-Spec edition is expected to tip the 410kW mark representing a 16 percent increase matched by a not insubstantial 150kg weight loss.
The GT-R may slice through the air with its highly efficient aerokit, however the V-Spec will enhance these qualities for greater downforce and stability at high speeds.
Nissan is not modest when it cites its goals for the V-Spec model, attempting to lap the Nurburgring in under 7:25.00 to take the circuit record and topple the 911 GT2.
The extra performance will however come at a premium, where the V-Spec will attract in excess of 36 percent more than the sticker price of a standard GT-R.

The “Ring” has become the ultimate bragging rights tool!
Has anybody else heard about the rumor that the new Lexus V10 sportscar is even quicker/faster than the GT-R?
Hard to believe, but thats the talk around the traps…

Oz.
LOL.
Awesome. Can’t wait to see what it can do. Even at a 36% increase it’s still a bargain.
Unlike previous GT-Rs there will now be a definite and substantial performance difference between the standard model and the V-spec editions.

Nissan are really going for it. What would I want on the drive ….the porsche please.
