The last time we were here at the Sydney Dragway we brought along the fastest Range Rover ever built and one of these – a Jaguar F-Type R AWD – in a convertible body.
As a soft-top it’s a rocket, having clocked an official quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds and 181km/h across the line.
But this is the Coupe – and it weighs around 15 kilos less the convertible, and with the added benefit of all-wheel drive, we reckon it should be quick enough to break 11 seconds.
It’s got the same supercharged 5.0-litre V8, though, producing 404kW of power and 680Nm of tyre-frying torque. It will go from 0-100km/h in around 4.0 seconds and with little or no tyre spin off the line, it should be blisteringly quick.
