Jaguar Experience Day: CarAdvice takes 20 winners to Sandown

Usually open for Jaguar customers or potential buyers only, 20 lucky CarAdvice competition winners got to experience the best of Jaguar at Sandown Raceway.

After an induction from Lead Instructor, Keith Wannop, the drivers teamed up with their instructor and received a lesson on the perfect driving position.

Helmets on, the drivers belted up into one of four cars lined up in the pit lane – the compact sports saloon, the XE, the luxuriously long XJ, and the car that everyone lined up to drive, the powerful F-Type.

Our winners commented on how quick the XE was, with many saying the XJ was the biggest surprise, saying how agile it was considering the size of it. But the F-Type was the winner amongst the drivers, with its V6 engine sound and cornering ability.

As the morning session was drawing to a close, each instructor climbed into the driver's seat and demonstrated in one lap to each of our readers where they were going wrong on the track. The next lap saw the instructor drive the way they wanted each of their drivers to drive.

It's the first time Jaguar has done this, as the instructors said it's much easier to show it than say it. This move proved the right one, as all of our winners agreed their racing skills improved dramatically as soon as they got back behind the wheel.

Everyone who climbed out of the cars, especially the F-Type, had a giant grin on their face. To be able to drive a road car as fast as they could on a racetrack is something you don't get to do every day.

Some readers were even strongly considering buying a Jaguar after their adrenalin-rushing day.
