The swell is building for ISUZU – with sales of the D-MAX growing rapidly – making it one of Australia’s most popular utes (sales up more than 20% last year).
It’s practical, functional and goes the distance – and for one of our talented Aussie big wave surfers, that is a big deal.
Ryan Hipwood has no fear, the guy tackles some of the worlds biggest waves – slightly crazy, maybe but an inspiration non the less.
He’s conquered ship sterns in Tasmania scoring him runner up in the billabong XXL big wave awards in 2009 – and travels the world chasing waves.
The ISUZU D-MAX X-RUNNER is a special edition X-RUNNER, just 360 of these will be made.
It has a 3-litre turbo diesel engine, producing 130kw and 380nm, with a massive 3 and a half tonne braked towing capacity.
It has on-the-fly shift to 4WD, allowing you to switch from 2WD to 4WD while on the move at up to 100km an hour.
With adaptive braking and throttle control, as well as hill descent and hill ascent control, the rev-tronic automatic transmission and gear box does all the hard work for you.
The suspension set up is independent double wishbone with coil springs and gas shock absorbers at the front, and long span leaf springs at the back, assisting with front end grip and steering control.
4x4 is vital for getting to those hard to reach places.
The Limited Edition metallic colours are striking – Pearlescent White or Lapis Blue. And the aggressive front and rear body kit gives it an even tougher looking stance on the road.
