Holden Captiva Series II Review (video)

CarAdvice editor John Cadogan reviews both the Captiva 5 compact SUV and the larger seven-seat Captiva 7, which have both undergone significant upgrades for the Australian market this month.

Also included are interviews with GM Holden managing director, Mike Devereux, and Holden marketing director, Philip Brook, who explain the advancements made in the Series II range.

Included in the Series II upgrade are new engines, a new six-speed automatic transmission and retuned suspension settings, as well as lower prices and more standard features across the range.

The new 2.2-litre diesel engine and the seating versatility in the Captiva 7 are among the new vehicle’s highlights, although it trails behind its major Korean competitors by only offering a three-year/100,000km warranty.

Prices for the 2011 Holden Captiva Series II range from $27,990 to $42,490.
