The Volkswagen T-Cross and T-Roc are coming to Australia, but what are the differences between these two?
The T-Cross is the smaller Polo-based vehicle and Australia will get a single front-wheel drive turbocharged three-cylinder petrol variant that produces 85kW of power and 200Nm of torque, mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Sitting on the same platform as the entry-level Polo, the T-Cross measures 4107mm long (which is 54mm longer than the Polo) and sits on a 2563mm wheelbase (13mm longer than the Polo). It's 1750mm wide (1mm less than the Polo) and 1558mm high (112mm higher than the Polo), which means it's roughly the same size as the Polo but offers drivers easier ingress and egress.

The T-Roc on the other hand will be exclusively all-wheel drive for Australia and will come with a raspy 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 140kW of power and 320Nm of torque, also mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Sharing a platform with the Golf, the T-Roc is around 250mm shorter than the Tiguan, but still feels like it has presence in person. With a wider range of colours being made available, plus the option of an offset-coloured roof, the Australian R-Line-only specification will appeal to those that want to stand out.

The T-Cross is expected in Australia around May next year, while the T-Roc will be first to arrive around March.
