The updated Holden Captiva made its public debut here at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens media event held in the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.
The 2016 Captiva is quite a different car inside and out.
Rather than the Captiva 5 and Captiva 7 – it’s just the Captiva now – available as either a five or seven-seater.
Both Holden and Star Wars fans flocked to the event, some travelling hours excited at the prospect of seeing both the new car and Harrison Ford walk the red carpet.
The new Captiva features a new front-end design, with changes to the grill, LED daytime running-lights and fog light bezels while other exterior changes include body-coloured wheel arches and side-stepts.
Inside the dash has been revamped and Holden’s MyLink now features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality with a 7.0-inch display.
There’s a new steering wheel, gloss black and satin silver finishes throughout the cabin giving it a fresh feel.
The Captiva on show at the Star Wars event also featured livery of the new robot star of the film franchise – BB-8 by Sphero.
After seeing the car, checking out the hologram display and mingling with other Holden and Star Wars fans, people gathered to watch Harrison Ford walk the red carpet.
Hans Solo turned on the charm, stopping to chat with fans, take pictures and sign autographs before giving a candid interview on stage.
