The all-new 2016 BMW X1 has arrived. It's bigger, it's bolder and it is a lot more grown up.
BMW are adamant that the new X1 is very much a proper AWD vehicle. We negotiate a series of off-road simulations to show how the car's capabilities continue to offer a solid amount of lifestyle flexibility.
The X-Drive (AWD) models feel great on the road - the front-drive version comes in 2016. The car handles curves in the road like a sporting car - true to BMW's driving enjoyment mantra.
The ride overall is very good and we hope that continues when local models arrive in Australia.
The interior is well laid out and looks high quality. There's more room and the rear seats fold on a 40:20:40 configuration.
We don't know local pricing and specification at this stage, but overall the new BMW X1 looks to be a great little package.
Stay tuned for a local review when the car arrives in Australia later this year.
