The 2016 BMW X1 could well be the first time the German brand has managed to make its smallest SUV look how it really should.
It may not exactly replicate a shrunken X5, but the new generation X1 moves away from the awkward proportions of its predecessor with a rugged and stylish new look.
It'll be offered for the first time as a front-wheel drive, but Australian buyers will also have the choice of four-wheel-drive models.
