ZF Vision Zero Vehicle: Electric concept to debut in Frankfurt

The ZF Vision Zero Vehicle, a show car demonstrating the parts maker's latest technologies and a path forward to autonomous cars, will make its in-the-flesh debut the 2017 Frankfurt motor show in September. ZF Friedrichshafen is a German automotive parts manufacturer, best known for its automatic transmissions. Besides slushboxes, the component maker also makes drive units and safety equipment.

2015 Aston Martin Vanquish, Rapide S gain eight-speed auto

Both the Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide S have been updated for the 2015 model year with a new eight-speed transmission, as well as a smidge more power and torque. Dubbed Touchtronic III by Aston Martin's marketing department, the ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox will be fitted as standard on all MY2015 Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide S models.

New Jeep Cherokee spied, will use Fiat platform

A replacement for the six-year-old Jeep Cherokee is being readied for production, the third-generation mid-sized SUV snapped here in testing ahead of its predicted unveiling at the New York auto show in late March. Head of US sales for the Chrysler Group, Reid Bigland, confirmed at the Detroit auto show that for the first time the Cherokee nameplate will be used in all markets – the previous two generations were badged Liberty in North America only.
