Remember the WRC Toyota Corolla from the late 1990s? Well,rallyfans and the like can watch the old race car compete once more.
At a recent round of the Whiteline Tarmac Rally Series in New South Wales, a special example of the old rally car hit Western Sydney Dragway, Eastern Creek, to compete.
This particular vehicle was built and restored by Daryl Bush, technical director for Neal Bates Motorsport.

Toyota Yaris GRMN successor to be mass-production model

Toyota and Gazoo Racing are already planning a successor to the Yaris GRMN hot hatch, which will be a mass-production model and serve as a homologation base for the next WRC rally car.
Speaking with the UK's AutoExpress, Shigeki Tomoyama, senior manager for Gazoo Racing, said: "We know our current situation and we believe that we need to change the platform for the rally car to be even more competitive".

If you had your hopes up, Toyota's here to let them down: Confirmation today of an upcoming Toyota Yaris hot hatch has been followed by word that it is no sure thing for an Australian launch.
Although not an outright write-off for our market, a Toyota spokesperson has confirmed there are currently no plans to bring the souped-up Yaris here.
