After exclusively confirming his potential move into the world of Global Rallycross with CarAdvice back in late 2014, it's now official, with Subaru of America announcing that former World Rally Championship (WRC) driver Chris Atkinson will join its ranks to compete in the 2016 Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) series.
German manufacturer Volkswagen has teased its 2017 Polo R WRC rally car in a sketch, clearly stating the carmaker’s intentions of taking out the next WRC season.
The new rally weapon has been in development since 2015 and will be more powerful than the current Polo WRC, which debuted in 2013, after new FIA regulations allowed manufacturers to increase the car’s turbocharged engine by around 44kW to a thumping 279kW.
