2020 Volvo XC40 Electric to be unveiled in October

The Volvo XC40 EV will be unveiled next month and the automaker claims it "will be one of the safest cars we have ever built". Volvo has reinforced the front end as it no longer holds a bulky internal combustion engine. It has also reinforced the rear, and integrated the electric powertrain into the body structure so it is easier to distribution collision forces away from the passenger cell.

Volvo recalls several MY15-16 models for fuel leak

Volvo Cars Australia has issued a recall for the 2015 and 2016 model-year V40, V40 Cross Country, S60, V60 and XC90, over concerns about a leaking fuel hose. UPDATE, 15/01/2019: The ACCC has amended the wording of the recall notice, removing mention of a fire risk. The updated posting reads as follows: "If the defect occurs there is a risk of a fuel hose leak, the most common symptom being a fuel smell, which may pose a risk of injury to the vehicle occupants and other road users."

Is my new car economical? How does a Mazda 3 compare to other small cars?

No surprise: Fuel consumption is a key consideration for many Australian new car buyers, primarily because it tends to directly affect your weekly budget and spend. And fair enough. If you think of a car which averages 10L/100km, driven 15,000km a year and filling up at $1.25 per litre, it will cost you about $1875 per year. That’s about two-and-a-half times the annual registration fee, and potentially 10 times the yearly service cost of a small car like a Toyota Corolla.
