We saw it in concept form three years ago as the ID Crozz, and here it is at last: the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 – the company's second model in its new ID electric vehicle range.
Joining the smaller ID.3 hatch revealed last year, the mid-sized, five-seat ID.4 debuts as Volkswagen's first all-electric SUV – making it an obvious option for buyers looking to haul their small family around in zero-emissions style.
Volkswagen's 'Local Hazard Warning' system wins Euro NCAP award
…
Volkswagen's 'Local Hazard Warning' system has become the first piece of technology in almost six years to win a Euro NCAP award, claiming the safety body's ‘Advanced’ award in recognition of its unrealised potential to protect motorists from hazards.
The communication system enables Volkswagen cars to warn fellow road users of upcoming road safety risks by transmitting a signal to nearby cars, emergency vehicles and road infrastructure.
Volkswagen has confirmed its first electric SUV will be called ID.4, and will be launched this year as a global model produced and sold in Europe, the US and China.
The confirmed nameplate replaces the concept version's clunky ID. Crozz badge.
It will be the second member of Volkswagen's ID range after the Golf-sized ID.3 hatch, and is underpinned by the same ground-up 'MEB' electrical architecture that has also been licensed to Ford.

Volkswagen Australia has confirmed it'll "definitely" launch the ID range with the ID.4 SUV.
