Volkswagen Golf Mk8 launching Q3 2020 in Oz

Volkswagen Australia has confirmed it's still expecting the eighth-generation Golf range during the third quarter of 2020, following reports out of Europe its launch will be delayed due to 'technical glitches'. Speaking with CarAdvice, Paul Pottinger, communications boss for Volkswagen Australia, said regardless of the reported delays, the local arm should launch the next-gen Golf between June and August next year.

Volkswagen announces factory bonus for MY18 Golf R

Volkswagen Australia is currently offering 2018 model-year Golf R hatches and wagons with a $3000 factory bonus for a limited time. Following the recent announcement of drive-away pricing for the front-wheel drive Golf GTI, the German manufacturer has introduced a new offer on its flagship all-wheel drive performance duo, available until March 31.

Volkswagen Australia has detailed the updated MY19 Golf range this week, with a smaller model range and a new base trim set to arrive in dealerships this October. The 110TSI base model has been culled, along with the manual Golf R, with the Trendline grade serving as the new entry point to the revised range.

2019 Mercedes-AMG A35 spied

The upcoming Mercedes-AMG A35 hatchback has been spied in the snow this week, ahead of a likely Paris motor show reveal. Following the images of a camouflaged AMG A35 sedan, this latest prototype has dropped some of its disguise, showing a little more of what to expect from the mid-range hot hatch. The A35 name was confirmed by AMG boss Tobias Moers himself in a recent interview with Top Gear Magazine, with the new variant to fill the gap between the A250 and AMG A45 models.
