2022 Subaru WRX imagined as new spy photos surface
Subaru's next WRX is, slowly but surely, taking shape. Due for a likely 2021 unveiling, official details are trying our patience here at CarAdvice, so we tasked auto artist Theophilus Chin to render his take on the final product.
In reality, the styling of the 2021 Subaru WRX is no real mystery, with the Japanese car maker having dropped plenty of hints, starting with the Viziv Performance STI Concept in January 2018.

The new Mazda BT-50 is just around the corner and the good news is we won’t need to wait long before we find out what it really looks like.
While this is an artist impression of the new Mazda BT-50 ute – inspired by Mazda’s recent design themes and an earlier pledge to make the new one more truck-like than the current model – CarAdvice understands it could be unveiled within months and in showrooms sooner than anticipated.
The Australian launch this week of the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has led to a bit of speculation around the CarAdvice office.
So far, Mercedes and BMW have played a game of tit-for-tat when it comes to fastback SUV models. First came the X5-based X6, then the X3-based X4. Mercedes-Benz countered with the GLE Coupe and now GLC Coupe models, both based upon their wagon counterparts.
There will be no BMW M2 Convertible, because the German brand’s performance arm doesn’t see the need for it.
CarAdvice has just been at the launch of the all-new BMW M2 Coupe, where the chief engineer of the model, Frank Isenberg, made it clear that a drop-top model wasn’t on the cards.
“We’ve got such a nice M235i Convertible. And convertibles are not for racetracks, they’re for cruising,” Isenberg said.
