Tesla Pickup teased

The surprise reveals from Tesla continue, with the company previewing an pickup based on the Semi revealed last week. Shown during the launch of the Tesla Semi and manic Tesla Roadster, the design sketch above shows a fairly large ute with another ute sitting in the tray - CEO Elon Musk describes it as a "pickup that can carry a pickup truck".

Cummins Aeos: Electric semi truck concept revealed

Engine and power firm, Cummins, has taken the wraps off its AEOS all-electric semi truck concept this week, beating Silicon Valley's Tesla to the punch. Instead of a conventional 12-litre turbo-diesel engine, the Cummins AEOS uses a 140kWh battery pack that gives it a range of around 100 miles (160km) on a single charge. While the standard setup won't be much use for long-distance work, Cummins says the AEOS's range can be extended to 300 miles (482km) through extra battery packs.

Tesla Semi truck to debut in September, ute within two years

Elon Musk has confirmed the Tesla Semi, most likely in concept form, will be unveiled this September. In a tweet last week, the Tesla CEO said: "Tesla Semi truck unveil set for September. Team has done an amazing job. Seriously next level."
