Tesla truck prototype spied following winter testing

Tesla’s Semi – its fully-electric answer to a heavy-duty freight vehicle – has been spotted after completing cold weather testing in Alaska. Two prototypes of the Semi – which was first revealed in 2017 – were spotted in Oregon, presumably on their way back to Tesla headquarters in California. According to the Reddit user who originally posted the picture, the red Semi was wearing Alaska license plates. It’s known that Tesla has a cold testing facility in Alaska state.

Tesla Semi truck revealed, production to begin in 2019

Elon Musk has revealed his sleek all-electric truck today, and suddenly it seems clear I wasn't the only child poring over Usborne's Book of the Future (1979), all those years ago. Unveiled less than 18 months after first revealing 'part two' of his 'master plan', Musk's Tesla Semi is not the first all-electric truck - there are some operating here in Australia - but, as seems ever the case with Tesla, it is likely to build plenty of hype.

Cummins Aeos: Electric semi truck concept revealed

Engine and power firm, Cummins, has taken the wraps off its AEOS all-electric semi truck concept this week, beating Silicon Valley's Tesla to the punch. Instead of a conventional 12-litre turbo-diesel engine, the Cummins AEOS uses a 140kWh battery pack that gives it a range of around 100 miles (160km) on a single charge. While the standard setup won't be much use for long-distance work, Cummins says the AEOS's range can be extended to 300 miles (482km) through extra battery packs.
