2022 Tesla Model S Plaid and Plaid+ promise to be world's quickest cars

Tesla has announced not one but two versions of the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid, both of which promise to shatter the record for the world's fastest-accelerating car – petrol or electric. Tesla says it will introduce the Model S Plaid and Model S Plaid+ sedans, both of which promise to overtake the drag-racing-focused 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon from zero to 100km/h – if Tesla's performance claims prove true.

2020 Tesla Model S update extends certified range to 647 kilometres

The 2020 Tesla Model S Long Range Plus has now been certified with a driving range of 647 kilometres, up from 629 kilometres. The additional eighteen kilometres might not sound like much, but that extra range represents an important milestone for the electric-car maker – translating to more than 400 miles of range. It makes it the first electric vehicle in the US to have achieved that milestone.

Tesla Model S, Model X Long Range Plus get range boost

Tesla has liberated more range from the Model S and Model X, thanks to "many small hardware improvements". Elon Musk took to his preferred medium (Twitter) to reveal the Model S Long Range Plus now has a claimed EPA range of 628km, up from 596km. The Model X SUV has seen its range jump from 528km to 565km – at least, Tesla says it has. The claimed ranges are yet to be certified, so they're just estimates for now.
