It appears the limited-edition Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR won't hit Australian showrooms until the new year, with the local arm confirming the most powerful production GTI yet has been delayed.
Volkswagen Australia has now indicated a tentative "Q2 2020" launch frame for its race-inspired front-drive hot hatch, after it was initially slated to arrive Down Under this month.
There's a new entrant to the TCR Australia Series, the Renault Megane RS TCR. A pair of the hatch-based race cars will be debuting at the opening event of the series on May 17.
Entered and prepared by Garry Rogers Motorsport, the Renaults join several other manufacturers already entered in the TCR championship Down Under – including Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Honda and Alfa Romeo.
Lynk & Co has confirmed it will enter the FIA World Touring Car Cup in partnership with Cyan Racing, revealing a 500hp (373kW) road car concept based on its new 03 sedan.
When it hits the track in 2019, the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing 03 TCR will go head-to-head with racers from the likes of Audi, Honda, Hyundai and Volkswagen.
