A new base-model Porsche Taycan has debuted in China, devoid of additional badges like its 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S siblings.
This new Porsche Taycan model only has a single electric motor powering the rear wheels, unlike the all-wheel-drive models currently available to buy in Australia.
While the most affordable Taycan currently available in Australia is the 4S, which starts at $191,000 plus on-road costs, the new base model has been priced from 888,000 yuan – or roughly AU$182,747.

Porsche has commenced the rollout of destination electric vehicle chargers in Australia, cementing its commitment to electric vehicle technology.
Speaking to CarAdvice about the brand's plans, head of Porsche Australia public relations, Chris Jordan, said the company is covering five pillars of EV readiness for the arrival of its first fully-electric car, the Taycan, in Australia.
The interior of the new Porsche Taycan electric sedan has been leaked ahead of its unveiling later this year.
This image was posted on the Porsche Taycan EV Forum, and shows what's claimed to be a pre-production version of the Taycan's cabin.
If this low resolution image is accurate, the Taycan's interior will be almost identical to the one found in the 2018 Mission E Cross Turismo concept.
