Peugeot family ready to back further acquisitions

The PSA Group, which currently owns the Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands, is open to acquiring a few more marques for its portfolio, and it has the backing of one of its biggest shareholders. At the recent Geneva motor show, Carlos Tavares, CEO of the PSA Group, said he would "love to [have discussions] with people who are looking for deals". Jaguar Land Rover and Fiat Chrysler are seen as PSA's most likely partners.

Tata reportedly buys stake in Faraday Future amid executive departures

Tata has reportedly bought a 10 per cent stake in troubled Chinese electric startup Faraday Future. According to Gasgoo, Chinese media outlets are reporting Tata has purchased 10 per cent of Faraday Future for US$900 million ($1.2 billion). If the reports are true, a healthy cash infusion could see the help stabilise the situation at the troubled EV manufacturer, which has undergone an exodus of senior personnel in recent weeks.

The Tata Xenon has scored a major safety upgrade, gaining electronic stability control and other assistance systems standard across the range. The 2015 Tata Xenon – available nationally from today – introduces ESC along with traction control, hill hold control, drag torque control, hydraulic brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution.
