Peugeot family ready to back further acquisitions

The PSA Group, which currently owns the Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands, is open to acquiring a few more marques for its portfolio, and it has the backing of one of its biggest shareholders. At the recent Geneva motor show, Carlos Tavares, CEO of the PSA Group, said he would "love to [have discussions] with people who are looking for deals". Jaguar Land Rover and Fiat Chrysler are seen as PSA's most likely partners.

Jaguar could go all-electric - report

Jaguar Land Rover management is reportedly considering a radical plan to transform Jaguar into an electric-only luxury car brand. With the XE, XF and F-Pace down by between 17 to 25 per cent, poor sales are causing serious headaches at Jaguar headquarters, as management grapples with plans for its next generation of vehicles. Sources have told Autocar if current sales trends continue, the brand may be forced to radically reshape its range to ensure its survival.

Tata Tamo Futuro mid-engined sports car bound for Geneva

Indian car maker Tata has teased the first vehicle from its new sub-brand Tamo, expected to be a mid-engined two-seater sports car concept, which will debut at the 2017 Geneva motor show in March - according to a new report. Autocar India reveals the new model will be unveiled on March 7 at the Geneva event, and will be the first product to be developed under Tata's new passenger vehicles strategy, Tamo, which will act as a testbed for new technologies, business models and partnerships.

News of new and revised Tata models is thin on the ground for Australia, although buyers can likely expect updates and pricing tweaks to the brand’s long-serving Xenon ute.
