Councils suspend parking fines, relax restrictions amid coronavirus crisis

Local councils in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne are suspending or altering their parking restrictions as more residents are forced to stay at home or avoid public transport amid the coronavirus outbreak. Brisbane City Council announced on Thursday it would be suspending all parking fines, turning off parking meters and reducing parking lot fees in a bid to support those still needing to travel to work during the public health crisis.

New plan to expand Australia's EV charging network

Australia's electric vehicle charging infrastructure is set to get a boost, with the Australian-based Evie Networks planning to link major capital cities with a network of 42 ultra-fast charge stations. The proposal includes a network of 80 individual charge points linking Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, and will also include stations near Perth. Should it get off the ground, the company claims the network would be Australia's largest of ultra-fast charge sites.

Announced this week, the seven-seat LDV G10 people mover will be used by Sergeant Ghouse Mohammad and his fellow Campsie LAC officers to spread their crime prevention message to the schools, businesses and community groups of the Campsie area.
