Japanese Government intervened in Nissan-Renault merger plans - report

Carlos Ghosn's push to make the relationship between Nissan and Renault stronger was undermined by Nissan executives and the Japanese Government, according to emails leaked to Bloomberg. The emails reveal the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry was concerned merger plans would disproportionately benefit Renault and its largest shareholder, the French state.

Mercedes-Benz chief confirms brand won't build new small cars with Infiniti

Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the alliance it has with Renault-Nissan to produce a range of models is strong, but company chief Dr Dieter Zetsche confirmed there are joint projects that may be dropped if they don’t make sense – including a second-generation range of small cars.

2016 Renault Grand Scenic revealed, Australian launch under consideration

The new 2017 Renault Grand Scenic people-mover has been unveiled today, joining the smaller Scenic that was revealed earlier this year at the Geneva motor show. Today's unveiling also brings reaffirmation that Renault Australia is exploring the Grand Scenic's potential for a local launch, although a decision is still to be made.
