Porsche trademarks ‘960’ name, supercar rumours grow - report

Rumours that a new Porsche supercar is on the way are beginning to gain traction after the German car maker recently secured the trademark ‘960’. According to Car Magazine, the company was granted the trademark last September, implying that those rumours could soon be a reality. Porsche is giving away very little in terms of future product plans, however, the company has reportedly identified gaps in its line-up.

Porsche says no to fully electric cars – at least for the time being

While German carmaker Porsche admits to being seriously interested in electric cars, it also believes that current battery technology is not yet advanced enough for the high-performance brand to develop production series EVs (Electric Vehicles). Porsche 918 Spyder: Weissach pack option claims 2.6sec 0-100km/h

New performance specifications for the Porsche 918 Spyder have been announced, revealing even better figures for the hybrid supercar. Fitted with a lightweight track-focused Weissach package – featuring improved aerodynamics, magnesium wheels, six-point racing harnesses and reducing weight by 45kg – the Porsche 918 Spyder now claims 0-100km/h in 2.6 seconds. That’s 0.2sec quicker than previously stated at the 1685kg two-seater’s Frankfurt motor show unveiling in September.
