Pablo Escobar's 1974 Porsche 911 RSR listed for sale

A Porsche 911 RSR – once owned by Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar – has come onto the market, with a US$2.2 million (AU$2.9 million) price tag. The bespoke rear-engine German sports car was designed and built for the 1974 International Race of Champions (IROC) all-star competition, where it was assigned to Formula One driver Emerson Fittipaldi. After that year's 15-car series wrapped up, the vehicle was acquired by automotive and motorsport business magnate Roger Penske.

Porsche 911 Targa and Turbo kit launched by Lego

A miniature Porsche 911 Targa and Turbo has been launched by Lego, with the sportscar kit set to come onto the market in March. The model – which comprises 1458 individual pieces – reportedly features a mock-up air-cooled flat-six engine in the rear, as well as tilting seats and a fully-functional steering wheel. Several completely unique mouldings were reportedly required to capture the 911’s distinctive shape, however a significant percentage of the parts are generic Lego stock.

2021 Porsche 911 Carrera Cross: High-riding 'Safari' imagined

A prototype Porsche 911 has been spied testing in Germany, but with one curious detail: raised suspension. Why a brand-new 911 sports car would even be fitted with high-riding suspension remains a mystery. At this stage there have been no industry whispers about such a variant. However, in the past few months we know Porsche has been testing a Taycan Cross Turismo, using a lifted body to combine the best aspects of a large luxury wagon with the clearance of an SUV.
