PSA prepared to close Ellesmere Port plant after no-deal Brexit - report

The PSA Group could close the Vauxhall production plant in Ellesmere Port if the UK leaves the European Union with a 'no-deal Brexit'. Speaking with the Financial Times, PSA Group boss Carlos Tavares said the company already has alternative production site in Southern Europe lined up for the Astra.

The updated Opel Astra has been spied undergoing testing Germany, wearing a face that's remarkably similar to that of the current car. This latest prototype sports camouflage only on its front fascia and around the tail-lights, indicating the facelift isn't too far from being officially revealed.

Opel to launch eight all-new or updated models by 2020

German manufacturer Opel and its British sister Vauxhall have committed to no less than eight all-new or refreshed models before 2020, with a focus on growth segments. Of these eight models, three will be all-new versions of the Corsa light hatch, Vivaro van, and the successor to the Mokka X small crossover, the former two scheduled for launch next year, while the latter will hit the European market in 2020.

2016 European Car of the Year award finalists announced

The jurors for the 2016 European Car of the Year award have handed down a list of the final models in the running for this year’s prize, to be revealed at March’s Geneva motor show. Shortlisted from a group of forty nominees announced in July, today’s list of seven vehicles includes four premium marques and three volume-selling brands. All but one are of the passenger variety, with the new Mazda MX-5 standing out as the only pure sports offering in the pack.
