2019 New York motor show: Hits and misses

New York may no longer be April's pre-eminent motor show – blame Shanghai for that – but it still plays host to a plenty of important product launches and the odd concept. 2020 Kia Stinger GTS gets AWD with Drift Mode

Infiniti Q50 Signature Edition headed to New York

Infiniti has released a single image of its new Q50 Signature Edition, due to be revealed in full at the 2019 New York motor show next week. Part of the brand's 30th anniversary celebrations, the limited-edition Q50 sedan will feature "added luxury treatments" and "standard driver assistance features designed to empower the driver".

Hyundai: Same-same family design is "boring"

It isn't uncommon to see manufacturers designing a similar-looking range of cars across model lines, but it's a move Hyundai's head of design is strongly against. It takes a trainspotter to tell a Mercedes-Benz C-Class from an E- or S-Class, or even a BMW 3 Series from the 5 and 7 Series – a type of confusion Hyundai is keen to avoid. Speaking to media at the 2018 New York motor show, head of Hyundai design, Luc Donckerwolke, said this design philosophy is nothing short of boring.

2019 Toyota RAV4 revealed for Europe

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 has been revealed in European-market guise following its global debut at last week's New York motor show. Compared to the US version, the Euro-spec RAV4 features subtle design changes like revised headlights with integrated LED daytime-running lights, likely previewing what to expect for the Australian model when it arrives sometime next year.
