Mitsubishi has announced revisions to its Pajero Sport lineup for 2018, adding a more-expensive GLS trim to the five-seat range and rolling out active safety equipment across all models. Mitsubishi operations chief says large SUVs and sedans are ‘dying’

Mitsubishi Motors is banking on SUVs as its future, but the company’s operations chief reckons that even some of those high-riding models are on their way out. Speaking with media in Sydney this week, Trevor Mann, global COO for Mitsubishi Motors, said the large SUV could be on its way out – meaning the Pajero Sport could remain as the biggest SUV you can get from the three-diamond brand when the Pajero (proper!) finally bites the dust.

2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport seven-seat model to hit Australia in July

Mitsubishi Australia is set to announce the addition of a seven-seat variant to the 2016 Pajero Sport range, which launched in Australia late last year with a five-seat offering. Speaking at the launch of the vehicle last year, Shayna Welsh, Mitsubishi's head of corporate communications, told CarAdvice that the company wanted a seven-seat variant locally, but was still working to confirm its availability for Australia.
