2003-08 Mitsubishi Lancer, Evolution added to Takata recall

Mitsubishi Australia has recalled the 2003-2008 Lancer and Lancer Evolution as part of the ongoing Takata airbag inflator scandal. More than 35,000 vehicles are affected by the campaign, designed to rectify the like-for-like replacements fitted to those cars in 2015 as part of campaign 010093.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition available for order in Japan

The three-diamond brand has begun taking orders, in Japan, for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition. Based on the Evolution GSR, the Final Edition features a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, which has been upgraded with sodium-filled exhaust valves. Power is delivered to the ground via a five-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

Mitsubishi Lancer: next-generation model delayed until 2014

The new-generation Mitsubishi Lancer has been delayed until 2014, around two years behind schedule. Although the usual five-year Japanese model lifecycle has been used for the past three generations of Mitsubishi Lancer – the 1992 CC, 1997 CE, and 2002 CG – the current CJ series will need to serve a seven-year tenure after economic conditions forced new model development off track.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution animated TV spot

Mitsubishi Australia has enlisted the services of visual effects studio, Resin, to create an entirely computer-generated television advertisement for the Lancer Evolution X. Taking the science fiction mood of "Bladerunner" as inspiration, the Adelaide-based design, 3D and animation studio were able to conjure a dark, neon city as the Evolution’s playground. MMAL’s Vice President of Brand Management, Paul Unerkov is pleased with the outcome of this exciting marketing endeavour.
