The Maybach version of the next-generation Mercedes S-Class limousine has been caught on camera in heavy camouflage on the roads near Germany's Nurburgring.
While the disguise doesn’t give away much in terms of exterior styling, its longer wheelbase – when compared to the standard S-Class it is based on – is apparent in these images. As is the possibility of rear-wheel steering in the photos on the roundabout (above and below).
Daimler's top-shelf Mercedes-Maybach brand has revealed its long-promised ultra-luxury SUV in Stuttgart and Guangzhou, showing the world its competitor to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 joins the existing Maybach-badged S-Class limo at the top of the Mercedes range, and will be available for a small group of prosperous Australians from the third quarter of 2020.

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLS will offer a more advanced take on the brand's current Magic Body Control, according to reports from Europe.
According to an interview with chief Maybach engineer, Jurgen Weissinger, in Autocar, the range-topping seven-seater will rely on a new camera system for "better information from rough roads, so that drivers can slide over the road."
