2018 Mazda CX-5 diesel, CX-8 recalled

Mazda has recalled diesel CX-5 and CX-8 models over concerns the engine might not restart when it's switched off. According to the company, the problem can leave owners stranded in a car that won't start, posing a hazard to both themselves and other road users. A total of 131 cars, sold between April 24 and May 28, 2018, are included in the campaign. A VIN list is attached here.

2018 Mazda CX-8 on sale from July

The new 2018 Mazda CX-8 will go on sale in Australia from July 1, slotting below the slightly larger CX-9 in the company's local line-up, the company has confirmed with CarAdvice. While final pricing and specification details are yet to be confirmed, we do know the CX-8 will offer the 140kW/450Nm 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel that recently joined the CX-5 range – meaning you can finally get a seven-seat Mazda SUV with a diesel engine.
