Porsche open to autonomous track mode, will be 'one of the last' with a steering wheel

Lutz Meschke, head of finance and IT at Porsche, has outlined the brand's strategy for autonomous vehicles, driver assistance and other technologies. In an interview published on the company's corporate website, Meschke said "digitalisation and autonomous driving [should be seen] not as a threat but as a tremendous opportunity" for the sports car brand.

Mark Webber quits F1 for Porsche sports car racing

Mark Webber will race for Porsche in sports car racing from 2014 after announcing he was ending his 12-year career in Formula One. The Australian had been contemplating his motor sport future for months, and confirmed speculation yesterday by signing with the German sports car manufacturer. Webber will compete in Porsche's new LMP1 sports car program that will take on the World Endurance Championship as well as the famous Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race.

Top Gear Festival to cut loose in Sydney

The Top Gear team will be joined by Mark Webber and his Red Bull Racing Formula One car when the Top Gear Festival comes to Australia, taking over Sydney Motorsport Park in March 2013. The NSW government and Sydney Motorsport Park (formerly Eastern Creek Raceway) announced they have secured the Top Gear Festival Sydney for three years, starting next year with Jeremy Clarkson, James May and The Stig kicking off the inaugural event on March 9-10.
