Some of the world's biggest car brands and drivers have pitched in to assist in recovery efforts following the Australian bushfire crisis – offering donations, cars and support to firefighters, wildlife and affected communities. What do ex-F1 and World Endurance Racer Mark Webber and tennis star Maria Sharapova have in common? They're both ambassadors for Porsche. In this new video clip, the pair take the 911 GT2 RS for a spin around the company's test track in Weissach – spoiler alert, Maria shrieks once or twice. Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six, the 911 GT2 RS claims outputs of 515kW and 750Nm – making it the most powerful 911 ever made.

Mark Webber: first drive of Porsche LMP1 ahead of 2014 team switch

Mark Webber has helped complete the Porsche LMP1 race car's 2013 testing program, banking his first laps in the car he will pilot in next year's World Endurance Championship (WEC) series. Despite still being under contract with the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One team, until officially switching to Porsche from January 1, 2014, Webber tested the Porsche LMP1 on the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal.

Mark Webber quits F1 for Porsche sports car racing

Mark Webber will race for Porsche in sports car racing from 2014 after announcing he was ending his 12-year career in Formula One. The Australian had been contemplating his motor sport future for months, and confirmed speculation yesterday by signing with the German sports car manufacturer. Webber will compete in Porsche's new LMP1 sports car program that will take on the World Endurance Championship as well as the famous Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race.
