Photographers have snapped the updated Land Rover Discovery Sport during development testing this week, ahead of an anticipated reveal sometime later in the year. Normally with mid-life facelifts the camouflage is limited to the front and rear ends concealing revised bumpers and light units, but here the whole vehicle bar the roof is wrapped in swirly black-and-white wrap.

2016-17 Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque recalled: Owners urged to park away from property

Land Rover has issued a recall for 797 of its 2017 model-year Discovery Sport and 2016-17 model-year Range Rover Evoque SUVs fitted with the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and automatic transmission, over concerns a wiring fault could cause several issues including loss of electric steering, engine cut-out, or even a fire. The British manufacturer reports the engine harness may have been routed incorrectly and as a result could contact the water charge air cooler bracket.

2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport priced for October launch: Ingenium diesel, new infotainment

The 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport has been announced for Australia, with initial details revealed ahead of the updated range’s launch in October. Headlining the updates is the introduction of Jaguar Land Rover’s new ‘Ingenium’ 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, which replaces the 2.2-litre unit. Available in two states of tune, the new Ingenium powerplant produces 110kW and 380Nm in ‘Td4 150’ guise, and 132kW and 430Nm in ‘Td4 180’ form.
