New automatic cars priced under $20,000 in Australia

There's an old saying that you should spend three months' salary on an engagement ring. According to consumer advice site finder.com.au, a similar rule applies when buying new cars. Ideally, it suggests, you shouldn't spend more than 15 per cent of your annual income on the purchase price of a car. That would mean someone on a salary of $100,000 (far more than the average Australian income) should be aiming for a car around $15,000 – not exactly achievable.

Kia's growth continues, closing the gap on Hyundai

Overall new vehicle sales continue to go backwards in Australia, but one brand that keeps bucking the trend is Kia, having doubled its sales between 2014-18 and continuing to climb so far in 2019 to boot. The ‘second’ Korean brand after Hyundai has gone from also-ran, to fast-growing upstart, to established brand hovering around the top 5 overall position in impressively rapid time, clawing its way ahead of Volkswagen, Nissan, Honda, Holden and Subaru in the process.

Kia Australia announces 2019 AO Editions

Kia Australia has announced a new trio of Australian Open Special Editions for the upcoming 2019 tennis grand slam, including the local debut of the crossover-styled Picanto X-Line. Introduced after unprecedented demand for the micro hatch, the Picanto X-Line trades the sporting look of the GT-Line for a more adventurous aesthetic, donning 15mm raised suspension, contrasting plastic cladding with skid plate-style treatments at the front and rear, along with unique 16-inch alloy wheels.
