New Jaguar Land Rover shape-shifting seat mimics walking

Jaguar Land Rover’s Body Interiors research division is trialling shape-shifting seats that trick your brain into thinking you’re walking. JLR call it a ‘morphable’ seat where actuators in the foam mimic the rhythm of walking. Each seat can be suited for different drivers, much like memory seats currently found in modern cars.

Jaguar reveals I-Pace Race eTaxi for the Nürburgring

Jaguar has added a new vehicle to its Nurburgring Race Taxi fleet, in the form of its all-electric I-Pace crossover. It's the first time a manufacturer has offered an electric vehicle to cart patrons around Germany's iconic race circuit, not that its zero-emissions credentials mean it'll be slow around a track. Jaguar is confident the I-Pace's 400PS (294kW)/696Nm dual-motor electric drive system "will be able to cope with any conditions the circuit known as the ‘Green Hell’ has to offer".

JLR posts $707.7m quarterly loss

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has reported further pre-tax losses during the previous quarter, totalling £395 million ($707.7m), compared to the £264m ($473m) during the same period last year. According to a report by Automotive News Europe, in collaboration with Reuters and Bloomberg, the falling profits are the result (in part) of an "ongoing slump in car demand at home, as well as plant shutdowns and delays due to Britain's planned exit from the European Union".

2020 Land Rover Defender spied again

Either by accident or design, the look of the new Land Rover Defender is one of motoring's worst-kept secrets. Although it's been outed by a new Lego model and an in-dash image, Land Rover has maintained a high level of camouflage on its test mules. We can see a bit of the car's new headlight graphics up close, however, and it's clear there will be boxy flared guards on the production car.
