2021 Hummer EV revealed: 735kW electric super ute makes its global debut
…
The all-electric 2021 Hummer EV has been officially launched by GMC, and the vehicle could be a game-changer.
While it may not be planned for Australia at this stage, the Hummer EV marks a massive shift in one of the world’s biggest automotive segments by bringing pure electric power to a category traditionally dominated by petrol and diesel V8s.
Available in both dual-cab pick-up or SUV configurations, GMC claims the flagship models will produce a mammoth 735kW and 2033Nm.
The electrification revolution has made its way through hatchbacks to sedans and SUVs and now it has its sights set firmly on a new frontier: utes.
As with most automotive industry showdowns, it was Tesla that kicked off this sparring match with its not-so-bulletproof Cybertruck, releasing a video showing the all-wheel-drive, all-electric pickup tugging a Ford F-150 up a hill.
2020 GMC Acadia revealed, not for Holden right now
…
GMC has unveiled the 2020 Acadia SUV, donor for our Holden Acadia, with a more upmarket face, a new turbocharged engine, and a fresh range-topping trim grade.
Although there's plenty going on under the skin, we're going to start by talking about the car's new look. With slimmer headlights, a fresh daytime running light signature and a grille more in keeping with the wider range of GMC cars and trucks, it's definitely a more upmarket take on the formula laid out by the original Acadia.
Holden has commenced local real-world testing of the upcoming Acadia SUV, ahead of its launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
A fleet of 16 Acadias has been deployed on Aussie roads, with a further 14 doing errands in the USA for the six-month testing regime. The company says it expects the development vehicles to accumulate "almost 1.5 million kilometres" during this time.
