Next Explorer not ruled out as Ford Australia targets broader SUV range

Ford Australia has not ruled out offering up to five SUVs in the future, including a potential return of the Explorer badge, as it works on a product road map to reverse a decade of declining sales. Ford insiders pointed CarAdvice to the Edge at the August unveiling of the Everest SUV concept, confirming that neither the production version of that Ranger ute-based model or the US market Explorer would be the substitutes for Ford Australia's homegrown soft-roader.
