Fisker is planning to take on Tesla in Australia, announced its mid-sized SUV will make the trip Down Under. The company's founder, Henrik Fisker, responded to TechAU on Twitter and confirmed the news over the weekend.

Fisker teases Tesla Model Y competitor

Fisker, the car company founded by designer Henrik Fisker, has released a teaser image of an affordable all-electric crossover to be revealed later this year. Said to feature a "futuristic, elegant muscular look", the new electric SUV has a prominent lower grille and a glass plate for the radar system where a traditional upper grille would normally reside.

2019 Fisker EMotion debuts, solid-state battery coming later

The Fisker EMotion has been given its full debut at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The EMotion is powered by a set of electric motors generating at least 575kW of power, with drive sent to all four wheels. The EMotion rides on 24-inch alloy wheels fitted with low rolling resistance Pirelli rubber. The company claims the sedan can crack the 0-60mph (0-97km/h) standard in under three seconds, and shoot on through to a top speed of 259km/h.

Karma planning Chinese factory for 50,000 cars per year - reports

The Chinese company behind the Karma Automotive is planning to build a new factory with the capacity to churn out 50,000 vehicles per annum. Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal are both reporting that the Wanxiang Group has filed an application for an environmental impact review for a new factory in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, around 170km south-west of Shanghai.

Fisker Karma to be rebranded Elux Karma, delayed until 2016 - report

The Chinese company that bought Fisker out of bankruptcy is reportedly planning on rebranding its flagship vehicle as the Elux Karma. According to a Reuters report, Wanxiang is planning to ditch the Fisker name in favour of a new brand, Elux. This move will see the plug-in hybrid Fisker Karma sedan rebadged as the Elux Karma.
