Fisker teases Tesla Model Y rival

Fisker has provided a peek at the 'close to' US$40k electric vehicle it's preparing to take on the Tesla Model Y, ahead of its reveal on March 18. The car won't actually hit the market until 2021, by which point Henrik Fisker is expecting solid-state battery technology to be ready for mass consumption – and at a price that'll allow his company to sell its electric vehicle for the equivalent of AU$55,000.

2019 Fisker EMotion revealed

The new Fisker EMotion has been revealed with its production body ahead of its full debut later this year. Over the weekend, Henrik Fisker published the first full photo of the EMotion's production body on his Twitter account. In the tweet, he claimed the EMotion would be the "world's most advanced EV". He also reiterated details that have already been confirmed, including its range of over 643 kilometres (400 miles).

Fisker previews new model with 'butterfly doors'

Henrik Fisker, the man behind the design of the Aston Martin DB9 and founder of the reborn Fisker Inc, has previewed an upcoming model from the electric car brand. On his Twitter profile, Henrik Fisker shared a teaser image of the new model, which features ‘butterfly’ doors - a design the entrepreneur says will make for better ingress and egress.

Henrik Fisker to return to LA auto show with Rocket muscle car

Henrik Fisker will return to the motor show spot light with the new Rocket muscle car at the Los Angeles auto show next week. Co-developed with Galpin Auto Sports, the Rocket will feature a carbon fibre body and is claimed to be the "ultimate American muscle car". Aside from those two little nuggets of information, as well as the sketch above, the two parties haven't revealed much more about their new venture.

Fisker loan up for sale after missed payments

The US Department of Energy is trying to unload repayments of the loan it granted electric car maker Fisker Automotive following the company's failure to repay federal loans of US$168 million ($178 million). Fisker won a US$528 million ($559 million) loan from the Department of Energy's Advanced Technology Vehicles manufacturing loan program in 2009, of which only $192 million ($203 million) had been drawn down before it started defaulting on payments.
