Lewis Hamilton no longer driving exotic collection, cites environmental concern

Lewis Hamilton owns some of the world's fastest production cars, however he claims he no longer drives them for environmental reasons. The six-time Formula One world champion, who sold his private jet and became a vegan last year, told reporters on Thursday that he was doing his best to reduce his personal carbon footprint: "I don’t drive any of the cars that I own any more. I only drive my [electric Mercedes] EQC".

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta to go under the hammer for the children

As part of Ferrari’s 70th anniversary year, it will auction a ‘one-of-a-kind’ LaFerrari Aperta, with the proceeds going to long-standing NGO charity fund, Save the Children. On December 3, 2016, a LaFerrari was auctioned off for a staggering US$7 million (8.7 million), making it the most expensive car of the decade ever sold at auction. No doubt, Ferrari will be hoping to raise a similar amount for this worthy cause.

Ferrari : turbos, hybrids to yield 20 per cent emissions reduction by 2021 says engine boss

Ferrari will expand its use of turbocharging and hybrid technology as part of plans to cut its carbon emissions by 20 per cent by 2021, according to its global engine head. Speaking with industry journal Automotive News Europe, powertrain director Vittorio Dini said Ferrari will widen its use of turbochargers on its V8 powerplants, while continuing to team hybrid systems with V12 engines.
