Dodge axes Avenger, Grand Caravan; absorbs SRT; promises new city and sports cars
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will look to “purify” the Dodge brand over the next five years, deleting models that clash with the brand’s core philosophies and introducing a host of new performance models.
Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said the brand’s customers are “not looking for practical, sensible cars”, and that the company will instead refocus its line-up with an emphasis on performance and technology.
A mental 447kW RallyCross version of the new 2013 Dodge Dart will sprint from 0-100km/h in a space-time continuum-disturbing 1.9 seconds.
The all-business Dodge Dart has been put together by Dodge and SRT Motorsports to compete in the Global RallyCross Championships in the US. The only man alive crazy enough to jump in the driver’s seat, four-time Rally America Champion and 17-time X Games gold medallist, Travis Pastrana, will be behind the wheel.
2013 Dodge Dart interior revealed in teaser images
Dodge has released teaser images of the 2013 Dodge Dart interior, showing the dashboard layout and centre fascia. The Dart will be the first vehicle built under the Fiat-Chrysler partnership, and shares its platform with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
Last week the company released teaser images of the front and rear end designs. This time we get a glimpse of the futuristic dashboard and instrument cluster layout.
