Ram pickup sales skyrocket in Australia

The Australian company responsible for the right-hand drive conversion and distribution of America’s Ram pickup trucks is demonstrating astonishing growth and battling to satisfy demand in a flat market. American Special Vehicles (ASV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sydney’s Ateco Group that contracts conversions to the Walkinshaw Group, has sold 1378 Ram trucks this year through its network of 47 dealer partners. That’s growth of more than 900 per cent.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD recalled

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) has recalled the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD over concerns about the park brake cable. According to the importer the fitting at the end of the cable might become detached during use, posing a risk of the park brake releasing unexpectedly. A total of 107 units are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here. HSV will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to get in touch with their dealer for a free fix.

Performax recalls Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra for airbag fix

Local conversion firm Performax has issued a recall for its 2014 to 2017 model-year Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 trucks over concerns a faulty module may fail to deploy the frontal airbags in a collision. According to the company, the affected vehicles are fitted with a sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) that may have defective software. If the condition occurs, this could prevent the deployment of the front airbags and seatbelt pretensioners in an accident.
