Audi A9

The Audi Prologue concept has been revealed on the eve of the Los Angeles auto show, giving the automotive world its first glimpse at the car maker’s new design language. The large, low-slung coupe is also believed to preview a new flagship luxury model from the brand, speculatively dubbed the Audi A9, to sit above the A8 limousine.

Audi is starting to think very strongly about an Audi A9 model to join the top-shelf lineup in 2012. International reports are saying the A9 would be built using the modular longitudinal architecture (MLB) chassis that currently underpins the Audi A8. The Audi A9 would sit above the Audi A8 in terms of trim level and price, and offer a few distinct engines exclusive to the A9. These engines will also allow it to compete with rivals such as the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
